The Coldest Winter CD
#ODS028
It will be hard to maintain your collective sense of calm after the first notes hit you as this Canadian band unloads an incredible onslaught of viscious and progressive metallic riffage on their debut full length "The Coldest Winter". A potent mixture of techincal, metallic guitar riffage, thunderous, high-powered rhythms, and vocals that range from entrancing, moving singing to harsh, spastic screams. The song-writing is defintely on par with the likes of Converge, old Cave In, and Norma Jean, with blistering speed, breakdowns, guitar and vocal effects, and crafty song strutures but Jude the Obscure also dabbles in mellow, smooth rocking signatures and at times even acoustic guitars. It's frightening to think what this unit may even further accomplish in the future, a promising one that it is.
